125 years of impact.
One enduring legacy.

YWCA of Greater Portland has served as a beacon of hope and empowerment in the Portland Metro Area for 125 years.
We were founded in 1901, at a time when our founding mothers weren’t even allowed to sign our Articles of Incorporation without their husbands' permission, and every year since then has been characterized by women coming together to build stronger support systems for our community.
The faces may have changed, but the mission hasn’t. 125 years later, we are still showing up for the women, families, and marginalized communities who need us most.
Now, as we find ourselves navigating an increasingly uncertain landscape, that legacy continues to guide us. Join us in choosing hope, equity, and empowerment for our community.
Your support means a survivor has a safe place to stay after fleeing abuse.
It means a child traumatized by violence gets the care they need to heal.
And it means a disabled senior woman has food and care.
If the last 125 years have taught us anything, it’s that our community can overcome anything together.
