Domestic Violence Advocacy Certification
Trauma-informed.
Survivor-centered.
Do you want to learn how to support and empower Survivors? YWCA offers a state-approved Domestic Violence Advocacy Certification program for community members who want to become domestic violence advocates.
This program certifies participants to work with Survivors of domestic violence in the State of Oregon. In order to receive the certification, participants must complete all 40 hours of training.
Our Cohort Model
YWCA of Greater Portland's unique cohort-based training model gives participants the opportunity to network and build relationships with other passionate advocates over the course of a shared certification experience.
Interactive, high-touch and relationship-based, our cohort model provides brave space for attendees to learn and grow together.
Readiness Assessment
We’re thrilled that you’re considering becoming a domestic violence advocate!
We also know this work can be challenging and activating.
Our Readiness Assessment is designed to help you identify whether you’re ready to engage with the certification experience. We strongly encourage all potential advocates to take a moment to review the assessment and honestly evaluate their personal readiness to embark on this journey before registering for the program.
